Blessing Families with Healthy Stoves

We are partnering with Stove Team International to bless many of the families in the communities we serve in Nicaragua with new stoves for cooking. Why? All the families we serve cook on wood-fired stoves, many inside their homes. According to the World Health Organization, smoke inhalation from indoor cooking fires takes around three million lives annually – close to double that of malaria and AIDS combined! The stoves we are providing redirect the smoke outside so families are no longer breathing it. Also, these stoves reduce the chance of burns, which are especially common in children. Finally, they use far less wood. That’s a win because families save money and time and it’s better for the environment too.

What Is Psalm 128 Doing? How Can I Help?

We have launched our pilot program to install stoves in ten houses in Tololo and La Leona, Nicaragua. The first demonstration stove has already been installed at the shelter where we hold many of our activities. Each family will either provide part of their own building materials or part of the cost of the stove. We are looking for donors to cover the rest of the cost. Our goal is to raise $2500 to fully fund the pilot program. Will you consider partnering with us and the families of Nicaragua? Any donation helps.
